Private Network for Special Purpose-Group Data Private Network Solution
 
China Unicom Group Data Private Network is based on the advanced backbone optical network and MAN access network established by Unicom and covering the whole country, which materializes the interconnection between subordinate enterprise and the head office and meets the communication demands of group customer in internal data transmission, video conference, voice, and fax.
 
I. Group Data Dedicated Network

The group data dedicated network of Unicom bases on the advanced backbone optical transmission network, broadband data network, and MAN access network covering the whole country, realizes the interconnection with the circuits of all branches, and meets the communication demands of group customer on internal information sharing, data transmission, video conference, voice, and fax.
 
II. Service Realization Platform

1. Uniform Dispatch and Management

China Unicom has constructed a network management platform that can automatically conduct circuit point-to-point dispatch and monitoring across the country that can coordinate a cross-loop, trans-system circuit in very short time, thus keeping ahead of others within the industry in terms of circuit switching time, failure location, and troubleshooting. 

2. Rich Domestic and International Circuit Resources

While possessing abundant domestic cable resources, China Unicom has many different cable routes to Hong Kong. Tremendous systems are mutually protected and can be upgraded and expanded at any time. Asian-Pacific No.2 submarine cable participated in the construction by China Unicom has already been put into service, achieving the direct connection with the circuits of the main operators in East Asian and Southeast Asian countries and regions (including Taiwan); at the same time, China Unicom also has lots of circuits to North America and can provide America-side introducing solution, providing customers with total point-to-point international dedicated line to America.

China Unicom, relying on the transmission network covering the whole country and local MAN networks in cities, can provide dedicated line connection for group customer to construct its own private data communication network. The main nodes and branches of group customer may organize private network in the mode of SDH, ATM/FR, and others to conduct data, voice, and video data transmission. III. Service Advantages
 
(1) Whole-course Entire Network Advantage: China Unicom adheres to the principle of uniform planning, layered construction, and whole-course entire network coverage. The network of China Unicom is the only domestic large-capacity digitized optical cable network covering the whole country.
(2) Unified Network Management Advantage: China Unicom long-distance backbone transmission network is uniformly planned and adopts internationally advanced equipment. The network management system adopts unified, classified management combination and under the responsibility of the head office transmission network management center uniformly. Network-level management systems are located in Beijing and Guangzhou. Both network management centers are backed up each other and may be coordinated from 2M to 10G circuit end-to-end.
(3) All Service Advantage: China Unicom is the only domestic telecommunication operator with complete telecommunication service presently in China and can provide customers with “all service” telecommunication solutions.
(4) Institutional Advantage: China Unicom now is the only domestic telecommunication operator in “first-level corporation” system. This ensures the coordination and cooperation, smoothness and quickness of the network. The system of “first-level corporation” of China Unicom provide “one-stop” service at all phases to users, i.e., one order contract and one network dispatch sheet can mobilize more than 300 branches in different provinces to construct according to requirements and ensure China Unicom to make use of its own video conference system and other means before sales, during sales, and after sales to coordinate the construction of the entire project within the country.

V. Deep-level Application

The internal network of the group can establish connection with China Unicom Data Access Platform through data dedicated line or 165 Internet dedicated line in VPN mode. Each outgoing employee can access Unicom data platform with Unicom CDMA 1X wireless terminal (such as laptop + CDMA 1X network access card) carried, thus enabling outward employee to access group private network and easily realize mobile office.

Similarly, ATM machine, voice, video, and data collection devices, with the support of appropriate CDMA 1X wireless terminal, can realize point-to-point and point-to-multipoint secure data transmission and realtime monitoring and other industrial applications.
