China Unicom Beijing Company Internet Department IDC machine room is located at the first floor underground of China Unicom Beijing Communication Comprehensive Building. The entire construction follows the standard for communication building. Located at the gold sector between West Beijing Railway Station and Century Monument, the total area of the machine room is approximately 2000m², including antechamber (reception room), duty room, network management/control/maintenance enter, IDC telecommunication background zone/165 machine room zone, public hosting zone/host sharing exclusive zone, VIP machine room zone, air conditioning room zone, power and battery room, totally 8 zones.

2. Safety and Fire Control
The machine room adopts advanced electronic entrance guard and entry/exit two-way card sweeping to strictly control the access of machine room and ensure the safety and reliability of Internet data center. The electronic monitoring system of machine room is rationally distributed the equipment hosting zone, VIP zone, entry and exist of machine room and provides 24-hour time-delay video control.

China Unicom Beijing Company Internet and IDC machines adopt advanced pipe network gas fire control system with heptaflurobuturic propane gas as the fire extinguishing medium. The fire-control detector is designed in three layers: suspended ceiling, before suspended ceiling, and under ground floor.

Internet and IDC machine room first-phase project is equipped with 6 sets of 佳力图 70,000Kcal. machine room-specific constant-temperature and constant-humidity air conditioners to meet the environmental requirements of machine room.

4. Power System
Internet and IDC machine room power system relies on the power supply system of Unicom Jingmen Plaza comprehensive communication service building, adopting two-circuit power supply and diesel engine standby. IDC special UPS uninterrupted power system can provide 0.5 hour of backup power for equipment when diesel engine starts.

China Unicom IDC well interconnects with domestic backbone Internet operator Chinanet (backbone straight connection 1G), Cncnet, Cernet, Casnet, Golden bridge network, etc. at the backbone node of the entire network. At the same time, China Unicom GSM/CDMA short message gateway, CDMA-1X equipment PDSN, and WAP gateway directly connects UNINET (165 network) through FE/GE. China Unicom IDC and those mobile data equipment jointly access the same service convergent server. Therefore, accession of Beijing Unicom IDC can effectively improve the speed of user access application and greatly reduce access time delay.

Basic services include

1. Domain name resolution service
People are used to remembering domain name; however, machines only admit IP address. Domain name and IP address are one-to-one correspondence. The conversion between them is called as domain name resolution. Domain name resolution should be completed by special domain name resolution server. The entire process is conducted automatically.
2. Machine room, rack, space leasing service
Provide user with constant-temperature and constant-humidity machine room environment and 19” standard rack.
3. Hosting service
Hosting service is mainly to allow customer to place its own server and even its own LAN into IDC machine room. Data center provides appropriate exchange interface and appropriate network bandwidth.
4. Sharing host leasing service and exclusive host leasing service
Hot sharing service is that customer does not need any equipment but leases the server and network resources provided by IDC. If one user exclusively occupies a server, it is called as exclusive host; if more users share a server, it is called as sharing host.

4. Global load balance service
Customer LAB web server load is shared through LAN load balance equipment; WAN load balance equipment is used for achieving customer hosting or leading system intercity load sharing.
Local load balance can effectively solve the problems such as data overflow and network overload without procuring high-performance server at expensive cost but fully utilizing existing equipment and avoiding loss of data flow resulting from single point trouble of server.
Flexible balance strategy rationally allocates data flow to the servers within server group for sharing, even if the existing server is expanded or upgrade, it is just simply to add a new server into server group without change to existing network structure and stopping existing service.
Global load balance is mainly used at the website with own server in many areas. In order to enable global user to access nearest server with only one IP address or domain name and obtain the fastest access speed, large companies serving subcompanies and widely distributed website may achieve the purpose of uniform and rational allocation of resources through Intranet.
