Introduction of China Unicom GPRS Network Functions
Presently, Beijing Unicom has opened Interactive WAP (WAP) and Uni Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) based on GPRS network to GSM post-payment users. Since May 17, 2007, Unicom GSM post-payment users who apply Uni MMS service will be charged communication fee on 0.9 Yuan/ piece, free of receiving.
I. Service Introduction
(I) Interactive WAP
You can link internet seamlessly only through starting up “browser” of your mobile phone, and logging in the website of “Beijing on Net”, you can browse news, finance and economics, traffic, society, weather forecast and other various information; consult various practical information closely concerning with living, including rule-breaking inquiry, information of Beijing road situation, stock market situation, net value of fund, consultation of enterprise registration information, shopping mall’s discount activities, building market situation and can also download pictures and rings.
(II) “Uni MMS” Service
“Uni MMS” service is the multimedia messaging service (MMS) provided by Beijing Unicom for vast mobile phone users. It can edit and real-time send messages in various forms, including picture, voice, text, animation and so on, realizing multimedia messaging between Unicom mobile phone users easily and making your mobile phone life more colorful. Combined with mobile phone with camera equipted, Uni MMS service can provide instant photo and instant send, letting your friends share your appealing picture plane for the first time.
II. Open Method
(I) Conditons
1. Your mobile phone shall support GPRS function;
2. Your mobile phone shall support WAP and MMS functions;
3. Your phone number shall open GPRS function. There are two open methods:
(1) Free acceptance of short message:
Open GPRS function: send short message “KTGPRS” to “1234”;
Cancel GPRS function: send short message “QXGPRS” to “1234”;
(2) Acceptance by Business Hall (including self-support business halls and cooperative business halls)
You can handle procedures of applying for /canceling GPRS function in our company’s self-support business halls and cooperative business halls.
The individual user shall take original personal effective ID card for handling. In case of entrusting others to handle, the undertaker shall provide the original effective ID card of the phone owner and its own original effective ID card. The unit user shall take the unit’s letter of instruction and the original effective ID card of the undertaker for handling relevant procedures.
(II) Parameter Setting:
1. At present, most GSM mobile phones supporting GPRS function do not need users to set and can directly go internet;
2. For some older phone types, you need to make manual setting in your mobile phone, establish a new APN, and set parameter before application. Internet arrangement parameter list is as follows:
(1) APN or access point：uniwap
(3) Address of WAP gateway：10.0.0.172
(4) WAP gateway port: fill 80 of WAP2.0 mobile phone; fill 9201 of WAP1.2 mobile phone
(5) No need to input user name and password
3. Because there is no unified code for internet by mobile phone of various GSM mobile phone manufactures, GPRS internet parameter, browser arrangement and mobile phone operation principles of different brand and different types of GSM mobile phones are different. You are suggested to refer instruction of mobile phone and internet arrangement parameter list of Unicom GPRS mobile phone for setting mobile phone GPRS internet parameters and browsers.
Note: all GSM mobile phones which support “Mobile CSDN” function do not have to change parameter setting and can directly apply GPRS network service provided by our company.
III. Service Usage Method
1. Usage method of “Interactive WAP”: you need only to start up “browser” of you mobile phone and log in “Beijing on Net” (users with home page set manually can directly log in the home page) to use Interactive WAP service.
2. Usage method of “Uni MMS”: you shall enter the Uni MMS operation interface of your mobile phone and input the phone number of the receiving party, insert pictures and other accessory to send Uni MMS.
3. “Uni MMS” can inter-communicate with Unicom “U-mail” and “MMS of China Mobile”.
(I) GPRS flow fee (WAP and JAVA flow) for World Wind G users, standard charge is 0.03 Yuan/KB
Standard charge for MMS: 0.9 Yuan/ piece
(II) Recommend GPRS flow package and MMS package for World Wind G users

Note:
1. MMS is charged by piece and GPRS flow fee produced arising from sending and receiving MMS is free.
2. GPRS flow package and MMS package shall be applied in the current month and be effective in the next month.
3. GPRS flow or MMS pieces contained in the package shall be effective in the current month and shall not be accumulated to the next month.
4. Standard GPRS flow fee (WAP and JAVA flow) for World Wind G users is 0.03 Yuan /KB.
3. Method for Word Wind G Users to Apply and Cancel GPRS / MMS Package
Users can apply and cancel GPRS /MMS package by the following four methods, including mobile business hall, short message, internet business hall and business hall.
Mobile Business Hall
Log in “Interactive WAP” and enter “Beijing on Net” — “Mobile Business Hall” — “Self Service” — “Charge Apply/Cancel”; choosing “GPRS self service” or “MMS self service”, you can apply or cancel GPRS /MMS package (flow fee produced arising from login mobile business hall shall be charged normally).
Short Message
Apply Package by Short Message
① Apply GPRS package: the user edits the instruction of “SQGPRS+ package position” and sends it to 1234.
② Apply MMS package: the user edits the instruction of “SQCX + package position” and sends it to 1234.
Note: the system will directly replace the original package and execute the new mal from the second month for users who have applied GPRS/ MMS package.
Cancel Package by Short Message
① Cancel GPRS package: the user edits the instruction of “QXGPRSTC” and sends it to 1234.
② Cancel MMS package: the user edits the instruction of “QXCXTC” and sends it to 1234.
Note: users who have applied GPRS/ MMS package directly send short message and apply new package for changing GPRS/ MMS package. It is unnecessary to cancel the current package and reapply new package.
Inquire about Package Information by Short Message
① Inquire about GPRS package information: the user edits the instruction of “CXGPRS” and sends it to 1234.
②Inquire about MMS package information: the user edits the instruction of “CXCX” and sends it to 1234.
Note: when sending short message to inquire about/ cancel/ apply GPRS / MMS package, users are free of short message communication fee and information fee.
Internet Business Hall
Enter Beijing Unicom Portal Website and log in internet business hall upon authentication through password to apply or cancel GPRS/ MMS package.
Self-support Business Hall and Cooperative Business Hall
You can handle procedures for open services in various business halls of Beijing Unicom throughout Beijing city and rural.
