U-mail is the “mobile multimedia e-mail service” presented by China Unicom. U-mail mobile phone users can realize transferring e-mail between mobile phone and mobile phone mailbox, mobile phone mailbox and internet mailbox.

 

U-mail service drives mobile phone from short message era to e-mail era! There is no hinder between mobile phone and network intercommunication! Characters, pictures, audio, video and so on can be transferred by mail.

 

 

1. Mobile phone receives multimedia e-mail from internet: multimedia e-mail (may include characters, pictures, audio and video and other contents) can be sent to U-mail mobile phone through any mailbox of internet and mobile phone will automatically keep the e-mail to file.

2. U-mail users send multimedia e-mail to internet: U-mail users can send multimedia e-mail (may include characters, pictures, audio and video and other contents) to any mailbox of internet.

3. U-mail users send multimedia e-mail to each other: U-mail users can send multimedia e-mail (may include characters, pictures, audio and video and other contents) to each other by mobile phone.

 

 

Since July 1, 2005, U-mail service implements new charge standard:

I.         Standard package: mailbox fee: 5 Yuan/5M; fee for sending: 0.3 Yuan/ piece; free of receiving

II.       Luxury package: mailbox fee: 10 Yuan/50M; fee for sending: 0.1 Yuan/ piece; free of receiving

III.     Business package: mailbox fee: 30 Yuan/200M; free of 100-pieces sending, fee for over-sending: 0.1 Yuan/ piece; free of receiving

IV.     Charge standard of using U-mail mailbox through “Interactive WAP” is basically same, but receiving and sending is free of charge. WAP produced is charged based on the charge standard of “Interactive WAP” flow.

V.       The original standard package users keep unchanged.

VI.     The original package A/B and luxury mean are changed to luxury package.

 

 

I.         Users can apply service through U-mail and are registered as U-mail mailbox users, with the flow as follows:

1.         Choose “mail setting” in the terminal U-mail menu

2.         Enter “mail setting” and choose “register/ revoke account”

3.         Choose “register account”

4.         The dialog box of “Whether send the short message to register account?” appears. Choose “Yes”

5.         Interface of successful sending

6.         The first mail contents is received

7.         If registration has been made, receive the message content to inform that password has been reset.

 

II.       Users can apply service also through WAP and are registered as U-mail mailbox users, with the flow as follows:

1.         Enter WAP home page in your mobile phone

2.         Choose “recommendation hot” or “living assistant”

3.         Enter “U-mail mailbox”

4.         There is 15-day free probation period for new users to user “U-mail mailbox”. The system will give charging notice to users prior to the charging date. From the date when the charging notice given to the charging date, the system will not charge any expenses when users register “U-mail mailbox” during this period. If users fail to choose revoke, the system will charge mailbox fee from the 16^th day.

        

 

Unnecessary for setting, you are only required to press “Xuan Key” or enter China Unicom “U-Max” through mobile phone menu and choose to login “U-mail”, provided that you use the CDMA 1X with U-mail function.

 

If your CDMA 1X mobile phone does not support U-mail function but support WAP (namely, you are a “U-mail mailbox user”), unnecessary for setting, you are only required to press “Xuan Key” or enter China Unicom “U-Max” through mobile phone menu and choose to login “Interactive WAP”, choose  “recommendation hot” or “living assistant” and enter “U-mail mailbox”.
