Beijing Unicom was officially founded on September 21, 1994. As China Unicom’s branch in Beijing, Beijing Unicom is mainly responsible for the construction and operation of regional mobile communications, long distance data, Internet and telecom value-added services in Beijing. It is the only integrated telecom operator in Beijing, the tandem center of China Unicom international import and export, national tandem center and the main window for displaying the domestic and international image of China Unicom.
Since its foundation, Beijing Unicom has developed “leaps and bounds unconventionally”. It has achieved rapid breakthroughs in market operation. Currently, Beijing Unicom has built a communication network of broad coverage, high quality network, various services and a high level of services. It has six group “economy” functional applications (uint wireless PABX, unit staff short number, unit omnipotence, unit radio station, unit staff special zone and unit CRBT ) and four industrial “leading” informatizational applications(mobile intranet and Internet, mobile commerce, mobile data collection and mobile image transmission). The 52 personal practical functional applications such as short message, CRBT, 101567 one number connected, mobile Internet, mobile mailbox, super message, mobile business hall and red strawberry provide group clients with integrated solutions and one-stop service including voice, data, video and other comprehensive telecommunication services.
Beijing Unicom makes good use of CDMA differentiated advantages of “low-level radiation, anti-eavesdropping and high-speed Internet connection”, closely connects with the two themes of “social informatizational construction and economy-oriented society construction”and has made extensive breakthroughs in “informatizational industrial application”. In addition to the deep expansion in the original informatizational areas like finance, transport, industry and commerce, Beijing Unicom has made new breakthroughs in the logistics areas such as public security, government affairs, environment, media and security.
By improving the VIP honorable sevice mechanism, business hall acceptance, complaint and experience service mechanism, call center general public service, outbound and information sharing mechanism, multi-channel electronic service channel, etc, Beijing Unicom has formed a hierarchical customer service system. VIP service mainly serves personal high end and group users. It regularly launches characteristic and humane VIP services. It expands website customer service, short message customer service and other multi-channel service channels, enriches and increases differentiated service contents and means. At present, Beijing Unicom has more than 200 business halls and 10,000 sales outles. The layout of grid business halls and bringing convenience to users is more reasonable.
The customer complaint-handling center has been set up and put into operation. Internal complaint process mechanism is more perfect. The opening of the self-service channels such as mobile business halls, online business halls, “10011” short message inquiry and touch screen and the increase of service contents further enrich the service means.
