Weather and train ticket, all information in your hand

    The recent heavy snow especially in southern part of China has severely impacted traffic across the country, and many travellers are stranded on their way home. In order to facilitate your travelling, Unicom will present a serial of travel-related servics.

    Check weather by on-line surfing and STM

    Unicom subcribers may surf internet on WAP network. Logging on “Interactive View > Beijing > Info in Beijing > Daily Info > Weather”, you may check active information about weather in all parts of the country. Based on collaboration with National Meteorology Center (NMC), this service provides you accurate first-hand information about weather and 24-hour weather forecast covering all over China. If you want to learn about weather in Beijing, just go ‘weather in my province’; if you want to know about weather in other cities, you may click ‘check weather’ and enter name or code of city of city you want to see, then you will get a weather forecast of that place in coming two days. If you cannot enter by name, you may also select “Weather in China” where you the major cities of the country are listed in eight regions, and you may check just by clicking name of the cities. We also have ‘Tourism Cities” where you can check weather in tourism hot places like Zhangjiajie, Jiuzhaigou and Sanya. If you expect to have constant information about weather in any particular city, you may also select to order customized services.

    Send Short Message and Check Train Schedule and Tickets Available

    Check train schedule: if you go somewhere from Beijing by train, you may check liner number, time of departure and mileage of trains to that place, and even ticket fare. What you need to do is just edit on your cell phone “destination” or “liner” and send to 106558800014, then you will receive a reply containing these informaiton. For instance, you want to check about train T11, you just edit “T11” and send to 106558800014, then you will receive a short text message reading “T11 from Beijing to Shenyang, departure at 10:00, mileage 859 km, soft berth RMB 316, soft seat RMB 178, hard berth RMB 209, hard seat RMB 113”.

    Check seats available: when you have decided liner number and date of train you wish to take, you may also check seats available in coming 9 days. You just need to edit your train number and date in 8-digit and send to 106558800013, you will get the answer. For instance, if you want to check seats available on train T17 on January 15th, you just edit “T17, 20080115” and send to 106558800013, then you will get a short message reading “T17, Beijing to Harbin, seats available on Jan 15: xx hard seats, xx soft seats, xx hard berth and xx soft berth.”
